Today i am going to discuss the causes of weight gain and stomach issues occuring after Eid-ul-Adha the "Salty Eid", as this was the topic on which many people were messaging me.

- People neglect their health, and consume only meat at this festival while ignoring vegetables and fruits.
- People use animal fat for cooking. Animal fat is unhygienic and increases cholesterol levels in the body.
- As everyone is busy celebrating this festival, people don’t have time for exercise and walk
- People increase the consumption of soft drinks to digest the high protein diet on Eid. But it results in more serious consequences
- On occasion like Eid, people take their meals without any routine which directly or indirectly affects their health.
- On this occasion, people make more spicy foods. The high amount of salt and spices cause an increase in blood pressure levels.
- Tips And Guidelines for Spending EID UL ADHA IN A Healthy Manner:
- Try to eat meat in the boiled, charcoaled form and avoid taking it in oily/fried form as this increases the calories.
- Consume meal two hours before going to bed and go for a walk after the meal in order to insure that it is digested.
- Avoid the use of cold drinks.
- Don't forget your fruits as they are your best friends and are also high in fiber and low in fat.
- We all love our sweets (Kheer, Shirkurma and Sevaiyan) but moderation is the key, have these in a limit.
- Always include a bowl of salad (no creamy dressings) and curd in the form of raita or buttermilk in your lunch and dinner.
- Make sure that you maintain portion sizes and do not go overboard.
- Include green tea, infused water, lime, mint, chamomile tea in your day to day routine .
